Protects the Liner Behind It
A scraper renewed on schedule keeps discharge clean and stops residue glazing the drum - run past its adjustment range it wears its own mount and the liner it rides against.
The scraper rides closest to the drum wall and floor, sweeping the last of the concrete toward the discharge gate and keeping the chamber surfaces clean between batches. It is the part that decides whether a mixer empties completely or leaves a skin of material behind.
