Engineering Advantages

01 — METALLURGY

HIP Sintered Carbide

Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) ensures our thin slitter blades have zero microscopic pores. This ultra-dense structure holds a flawless razor edge (~0.3mm tip) without micro-chipping under high-speed corrugated board impact.

02 — GEOMETRY

Zero-Crush Razor Edge

A thick blade body (1.0–1.2mm) provides absolute stability against lateral wobble at speed, while the edge is deeply tapered and diamond-lapped to a razor finish. This slices the flutes cleanly instead of pressing them down.

03 — MANUFACTURING CAPABILITY

Complete Box Plant Tooling

From Tungsten Carbide Thin Slitters on the corrugator, to Z Cut-off knives, Scorer rings, and upper/lower Slotter Knives on your Flexo Folder Gluer — we engineer the entire cutting spectrum for your box plant.

Product FAQs & Buying Guidance

Technical FAQs

01Why are my thin slitter blades crushing the flutes on E and F flute boards?
+

Flute crushing is caused by a blade that has lost its razor geometry. This happens if the blade carbide is wearing too fast, or if your automatic in-line sharpening stones are glazed. Switching to our HIP-sintered Tungsten Carbide blades ensures the edge stays microscopically sharp, shearing the flutes cleanly without compressive force.

02How do your blades interact with automatic slitter-scorer sharpening systems?
+

Our blades are engineered specifically for continuous in-line sharpening (common on Fosber and BHS lines). The carbide grain structure and cobalt binder ratio are balanced so that the blade sheds material cleanly when hit by the CBN stones, keeping the blade sharp without loading (glazing) the sharpening wheels.

03What is the advantage of a Split Top and Bottom Circular Knife?
+

On legacy slitter-scorers, changing a worn solid circular knife requires operators to pull the entire heavy shaft out of the machine. Split circular knives are manufactured in two interlocking halves. You simply bolt the halves directly around the shaft in minutes, saving hours of maintenance downtime.

Why Choose Sureay

01Can Sureay supply the entire knife package for a new corrugator and FFG installation?
+

Absolutely. We are a comprehensive tooling partner for box plants. In addition to Tungsten Carbide thin slitters, we manufacture the complete converting spectrum: Slotter knives, Beam slot knives, Stitch lap knives, Scorer/Creaser knives, and Z cut-off knives.

02Do you maintain dimensions for Bobst / Martin Flexo Folder Gluers?
+

Yes, we have an extensive database of OEM blueprints covering the slitting, slotting, and scoring sections of major converting machines including Bobst, Martin, Isowa, Ward, and TCY. Your replacement knives will be an exact drop-in fit.
